NYC350 Advisory Board Charter Day Proclamation Special Report

1) Currently in development, an on-going public relations and advertising campaign going well beyond 'I Love New York," but designed to enlist radio, TV, the press in illuminating the long, unique history of the only City founded by a business consortium and pace-setting the Nation. A testing ground for the Bill of Rights ... multifarious at birth, first to offer haven to all, first to have a Compact of Freedom of Conscience (faith, speech, press), first urban self-government, measuring individuals by talent, skill, enterprise.

2) Development of neighborhood and community committees and organizing initiatives by local businesses and branches of larger institutions to effect change.

3) Focusing arts, and educational projects on the historic roots, which are the heritage of the newest immigrants and descendants of the first ones. Indeed, key to the success will be the establishment of a birthday for New York (like Patriot's Day in Boston) and the creation and encouragement of annual celebrations in all boroughs and all neighborhoods...our history is prideful and a great unifier.
